Avocus Publishing

News

9-19-2006: Editorial Department -

Craig Thorn was unique and Avocus Publishing was most fortunate to persuade him to become our editor-in-chief. His enthusiasms were wide ranging, his knowledge of the independent school situation was total in all of its phases, and his vision of future directions or needs was exciting. Avocus benefited beyond measure. He died too young, and as we go forward, we miss him.

We are happy to be able to announce that Catherine O'Neill Grace has agreed to become Avocus's editor as of October 15, 2006. She writes of herself:

"I am writing to introduce myself as the new editor of Avocus Publishing. As the former director of publications for the National Association of Independent Schools and editor of Independent School magazine-and as an independent school teacher myself-I recognize the importance of the stories you have to tell about life in schools."

"I am based in Western New York, where my husband is the head of The Park School of Buffalo. I look forward to learning more about your work and to continuing the tradition of fine writing and valuable ideas that is the press's hallmark."

We urge you to contact her with your ideas or suggestions.
